  Getting a mortgage in Spain

Mortgages for any type of villa or apartment may be obtained from any of the local banks in Spain. Alternatively you may choose to take a loan from home or to pay the entire amount at once. But mortgages are a great way to finance the purchase of property in Spain. Banks offer mortgages up to a maximum of 80% for residents and 75% for non-residents. All you need to do is provide the bank with proof that you can meet the monthly payments. The bank verifies this by making sure your total monthly payments to be made should not exceed 35 % of your net monthly disposable income. The banks also take a look at your last pay checks and s60 document. So you need to have copies of all relevant documents with you at this time.

To sanction your loan the bank sends its assessment agent to your house or property, this costs more and must be paid by you at the bank before the due date of evaluation. A good idea would be to open an account in a bank which has net-banking and phone banking facilities so you can keep track of your funds and payments. The entire process of obtaining a mortgage from a bank takes an average of five to seven weeks to the funds being available. After this you need only make the monthly payments. In the Costa del Sol region houses close to beaches as well as those in the interiors and villages are available for sale or rent in Malaga, Nerja, Torremolinos, Marbella and all major costal and interior areas. Villas and apartments may be rented on the Costa Blanca in the south of Alicante, and all along the coast, for beach front villas. The Costa Brava region of Spain offers a large choice of houses along the coast as well as a few in the villages in the interior region. Luxury villas are available for rent or purchase in Barcelona and Girona cities.
